Apologetics Quotes

Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence: “Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they, therefore, who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure…are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments”1https://apologeticspress.org/morality-without-religion-1508/

Professor William Lane Graig says that, “it appears that the universe has been incredibly fine-tuned for the existence of intelligent life from the very moment of its inception. And this fine-tuning is beyond comprehension in its delicacy.”

Paul Davies, a prominent physicist, says, “Through my scientific work, I have come to believe more and more strongly that the physical universe is put together with an ingenuity so astonishing that I cannot accept it merely as a brute fact.”

And Robert Jastrow, who was the head of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, has said that “This is the most powerful evidence for the existence of God ever to come out of science.”

“Astronomers now find they have painted themselves into a corner because they have proven, by their own methods, that the world began abruptly in an act of creation to which you can trace the seeds of every star, every planet, every living thing in this cosmos and on the earth. And they have found that all this happened as a product of forces they cannot hope to discover. That there are what I or anyone would call supernatural forces at work is now, I think, a scientifically proven fact.”― Robert Jastrow2https://www.harmonycc.org/podcast/god-in-the-flesh-the-incarnation/

Apologetics deals with challenges from both outside and inside the Church.

“Christianity is under attack today, and it must be defended. There are attacks from within–from cults, sects, and heresies. And there are attacks from without–atheists, skeptics, and other religions. The discipline that deals with a rational defense of the Christian Faith is called apologetics. It comes from the Greek word apologia (cf. 1 Peter 3:15) which means to give a reason or defense.”

The Problem of Suffering and Evil
“One of the most powerful objections to the existence of God is the problem of suffering and evil.”
William Lane Craig, The Problem of Evil https://www.bethinking.org/suffering/the-problem-of-evil

“People point to the problem of evil and suffering as their greatest reason for not believing in God – its not merely a problem, it’s the problem.” Randy Alcorn, If God is Good Study Guide. page 19

Dr. Albert Mohler, the President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, said, “The problem of evil and suffering is undoubtedly the greatest theological challenge we face.” The Sovereignty of God: How Suffering and Justice Meet by Dave Jenkins

“To be an atheist requires an infinitely greater measure of faith than to receive all the great truths which atheism would deny.”

“What can be more foolish than to think that all this rare fabric of heaven and earth could come by chance, when all the skill of art is not able to make an oyster!” Jeremy Taylor

“If the evolutionary mechanism of natural selection depends on death, destruction, and violence of the strong against the weak, then these things are perfectly natural. On what basis, then, does the atheist judge the natural world to be horribly wrong, unfair, and unjust?” Tim Keller

Is God real Christian quotes
“The atheist can’t find God for the same reason that a thief can’t find a police officer.”

“Atheism turns out to be too simple. If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning.” – C.S. Lewis

“There is observable order or design in the world that cannot be attributed to the object itself; this observable order argues for an intelligent being who established this order; this being is God (The Teleological Argument, proponents- Aquinas).” H. Wayne House

Kirk Cameron – Kirk Cameron likes to call himself “a recovering atheist.” He once believed that he was too smart to believe in fairy tales. One day he was invited to attend church with a family and everything changed. During the sermon he felt guilty over sin and he was amazed by the awesome love and compassion of God found in Jesus Christ. After the service, he was bombarded by many questions in his mind such as, where did we come from? Is there really a God in heaven?

After weeks of struggling with questions, Kirk Cameron bowed his head and asked for forgiveness for his pride. He opened his eyes and he felt an overwhelming sense of peace unlike anything he has ever experienced. He knew from that moment on that God was real and Jesus Christ died for his sins.

Antony Flew – At one point in time, Andrew Flew was the world’s most famous atheist. Anthony Flew changed his mind about God because of recent discoveries in biology and the integrated complexity argument.
